JOB PURPOSE  

• Automate IT control testing in GRC tool, e.g., ServiceNow.

• Supports small to large ServiceNow IRM development or maintenance projects that support IT Control Testing.

• Provides input into high level and detailed technical specifications for small to medium projects.

• Researches, stays up to date and implements new features of ServiceNow IRM to improve operational capabilities and strategic values.

• The ServiceNow Developer is a technical role that is responsible for below main mandates but not limited to:

  • configuration, control testing logic development and workflow design in ServiceNow IRM in implementing best practice solutions to support RBC IT Control Assurance.
  • configuration, on-going development, and maintenance of the Integrated Risk Management modules on ServiceNow platform.
  • support BSA in creation of test plans and assisting through complete SDLC process and responsible for deploying changes to production including PIV.
  • make recommendations on technical design, maintenance, and support issues.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Execution and Operation Excellence

The incumbent will collaborate and interface with ServiceNow development team, IT control owners, risk representatives, risk leads, internal & external auditors and key process stakeholders to:

  • Configuration of ServiceNow system including creating workflows, UI design, ACL, and business rules.
  • Load, manipulate and maintain data between ServiceNow and other systems.
  • Analyze data for IT key controls with control owners/delegates and implement automated control testing to ServiceNow IRM using basic and scripting test indicators.
  • Contribute and support BSA in creation of test plans and assisting through complete SDLC process and responsible for deploying changes to production including PIV.
  • Create and maintain integrations with other internal and external systems and solutions.
  • Implement and maintain automated workflows using ServiceNow Orchestration.
  • Leverage Automated Test Framework (ATF) to create and run automated test to confirm instance functionality after upgrades/changes.
  • Provide time estimates for assigned work packages to support project plans.
  • Ensure high degree of development standards are adhered to minimize the risk on introducing errors into the production by following the internal SDLC.
  • Document technical solutions, build artifacts and run books as necessary.
  • Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, interface with other systems, internal and external checks, controls, and outputs.
  • Identify inefficiencies, gaps and/or defects and provides solution to address them.
  • Configure, enhance, and explore new functionalities of ServiceNow IRM solution.
  • Contribute to the strategic roadmap of ServiceNow IRM.

Must Have

  • University or College Degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent years of experience as a Technical Specialist/admin.
  • Possess 3-5 years of ServiceNow Developer experience preferably in GRC/IRM module.
  • Required ServiceNow Certified Systems Administrator certification and Automated Test Framework (ATF) Essentials along with Micro-Certification Assessment. 
  • Hands-on experience with programming languages (Java, JavaScript, SQL, CSS).
  • Expertise with transform maps for loading, manipulating, and maintaining data within ServiceNow.
  • Expertise with integration between ServiceNow and third-party systems (Rest API, Database, File).
  • Analyze control assurance testing result data to create new reports/dashboard as required and enhance existing reports. 
  • Familiar with ServiceNow SDLC process and implementing changes and deploying update sets from lower to upper instance (DEV, UAT, QA, PROD – assist Ops team).
  • Demonstrated experience with IT development, support, and implementation, including ITSM processes.
  • Passion for simplifying and automating work, continuous learning, solving open-ended problems, improving efficiency, and supporting others.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills, including relationship management, problem-solving, analytical, research, detail-oriented, and quantitative skills.

  • Assist in projects/investigations as assigned.
  • Gather requirements for projects from stakeholders.

  • Leverage Automated Test Framework (ATF) to run repeated checks.
